About the Staff

Reverend James Huber

Born in the early sixties, Reverend Jim was raised in an environment that encouraged exploration of alternative spirituality and metaphysics. A series of spiritual experiences including near-conversion to Mormonism, a brief flirtation with Christian fundamentalism, and a final life-changing encounter with the voices in his head lead him to agnosticism and eventually atheism.

In May of 2002 Reverend Jim was diagnosed with diabetes. His blood sugar levels were about 3 times normal. Oral medication, diet and exercise brought his blood sugar back to normal levels in just a few months, much to the amazement of his medical care providers. Rev Jim attributes this success to modern medicine and his realistic view of life. He was never once tempted to blame God or call upon His help.

Reverend Jim's personal philosophy is influenced by Zen Buddhism, Universal Unitarianism, Neo-Paganism, his hippie roots, Carl Sagan, James Randi, British comedy ( especially Monty Python and Douglas Adams ), sunsets, rainstorms and sex; not necessarily in that order.

On the Internet, Reverend Jim goes by the handle "jhuger". He is best known for Kissing Hank's Ass which has been translate into a half-dozen languages, made into a movie at least twice, and performed on stage. His personal web site hasn't made him any money, but was instrumental in getting him laid.

Reverend Jim does not normally refer to himself in the third person, and hopes he gets over it before his next job interview.
